Juice Grapes

Juice Grapes, unlike the thick-skinned and large Table Grapes meant for fresh eating, are grown specifically for their high yield of sweet, intensely flavored liquid. These grapes—most famously the dark purple Concord variety—are characterized by their thick, easily separated skin and soft, slip-skin flesh that readily releases its juice. They possess a robust, deeply sweet, and sometimes mildly foxy or musky flavor that concentrates beautifully during the juicing process. While generally too seedy and small to be preferred as a snack, their high sugar content, bold color, and ability to be easily processed make them ideal for commercial production of grape juice, jellies, and jams.
